What are we working for, and to whose benefit? Work speculates on the status quo and futures for work. A fictional commute envisions a city in perpetual motion and essential workers doing unseen labor are bright into the spotlight. We examine the financial root of older women and homelessness and investigate community as a work-in-process in Melbourne’s private developments. Together with Open House Melbourne, we chat to designers and thinkers working hard to revive Melbourne and make it safer for women and non-binary folk, and to architects giving voice to Indigenous design thinking.
