A World Environment Day symposium is happening at The SUBSTATION, on Wednesday 5 June. The symposium will explore themes of climate change, and the intersection between art and science, with the aim of exploring innovative solutions for the future.
Projection artist Yandell Walton is one of the symposium presenters, and was featured in the current issue of Assemble Papers. Her work looks at the impact of human society on the ecological systems of the planet, and currently has an exhibition at the SUBSTATION. The other presenters are Jenny Martin, senior lecturer in Science Communication at the University of Melbourne, Wain Fimeri, award winning local filmmaker, and Blanche Verlie, an associate lecutrer at RMIT whose research looks at how climate communication can make climate change feel distant and abstract.
