Bunjil Place gallery presents The New Black Vanguard – a photography exhibition opening up conversations around the roles of the black body and black lives as subject matter. The images collectively celebrate black creativity and the cross-pollination between art, fashion, and culture in constructing an image. As part of Bunjil Place’s Arts in Isolation initiative, the online gallery resource includes a 360 degree video walk-through of the exhibition that users can explore and enjoy at their own pace, as well as a short video walk option to get a flavour of the exhibition.

Curated by Antwaun Sargent, fifteen artists showcase vibrant portraits and conceptual images that serve as a form of visual activism. Photographs include works by Campbell Addy, Arielle Bobb-Willis, Micaiah Carter, Awol Erizku, Nadine Ijewere, Quil Lemons, Namsa Leuba, Renell Medrano, Tyler Mitchell, Jamal Nxedlana, Daniel Obasi, Ruth Ossai, Adrienne Raquel, Dana Scruggs, and Stephen Tayo.
