On Wednesday 13 November, MPavilion will launch its four-month program of incredible cultural events. Now in its sixth iteration, this year’s pavilion has been designed by Australian Architect Glenn Murcutt. Glenn is the only Australian recipient of the Pritzker Architecture Prize (2002) and is internationally recognised for environmentally sensitive and responsible designs with a distinctive Australian character. Glenn says in relation to this this year’s pavilion design; “Melbourne has some of the maddest buildings in the world already. I think that what we need is a level of sanity.”
Inspired by the work and ethos of Glenn, MPavilion will host over 400 talks, workshops, performances, installations and kid-friendly experiences. Kicking off the immersive programme is Glenn Murcutt in conversation with architect and urbanist Shelley Penn. Other highlights in the first week include Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, RMIT Fashion Showcase, Friday Sunset Series, Empathy Hour, Music and Mood, and so much more!
Keep an eye out for our top picks and monthly summaries to stay up to date with MPavilion’s jam-packed line-up of events.
