Clothing, jewellery, medicines and other personal items belonging to Frida Kahlo are on display at the Victoria & Albert Museum. Frida Kahlo: Making Herself Up explores how Kahlo constructed her identity through objects, more than 200 of which were found at her home, The Blue House.
The objects were discovered in 2004, 50 years after they were sealed in there by her husband Diego Rivera following her death in 1954. Included are 22 colourful Tehuana garments, hand-painted corsets and prosthetics as well as her eyebrow pencil ‘Ebony’, still in its original packaging. This is the first time the items have been seen outside Mexico. The exhibition is on now until 4 November 2018.
