Christine McFetridge’s exhibition ‘Citizens of the Park’ at the Centre for Contemporary Photography documents the life of Citizens Park in Richmond, Melbourne. Inner-city parks have many uses, ranging from a place to play through to a place to sleep. Therefore, inner-city parks like Citizens Park are subject to competing values and interests, which Christine explores in this series.

Through her lens, Christine focuses on the recreational uses of the park and its role as a community space, in an area that is changing rapidly as a result of gentrification.
