Co-established in 2012 by our very own founding editor-in-chief Eugenia Lim, Channels Festival champions ambitious contemporary Australian and international works, leading the way in creating awareness and appreciation of video art as an important, powerful and vital practice.

Channels Festival 2019 shines a spotlight on video art that delves deeper into difference, connectivity, power and place. Through exhibitions, new commissions, screenings, performance artist talks, lectures, conversations and discussions, the festival aims to highlight the urgent, unstable and fluid nature of our times. Curated by Artistic director Kelli Alred, Channels Festival 2019 is a space where artists and audiences can come together and consider video art’s broader social and critical discourse throughout history.
