Susan Nerberg

Susan Nerberg is a Sámi freelance journalist and narrative nonfiction writer. She’s also a master’s student in Governance and Entrepreneurship in Northern and Indigenous Areas at UiT The Arctic University of Norway and at the University of Saskatchewan, in Canada. Based in Montreal, Susan tells stories about science and nature, taking readers to the places — tundra or city, boreal forest or ocean village — where people, including Indigenous knowledge holders and researchers, artists and activists work to better understand our collective impact on the ecosystems that support us. Keen on exploring how we interact with and relate to other humans, animals and spaces, she also writes about culture and architecture, social and environmental justice, and relationship to place.

Assemble Papers is located on the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. We acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded and pay our respects to elders past and present, and extend this respect to other Indigenous Australians.
